Because Gilsonite sealants are solvent-based sealants, the solvents soften the top layers of the old asphalt binder and allow the new asphalt binder to mix with it

For you, that means a new top coat of asphalt that removes the old oxidized layers and replaces them as if they were new
If you have new asphalt that is 1 to 2 years old, and it is in good condition, you can use a bituminous emulsion or coal tar sealer to “seal” the top layer of asphalt so that sun and weather don’t oxidize
